Dear Sir or Ma'am,

My name is Hunter Stone Crompton. I am running to be your District 85 - State Representative. I was diagnosed with Autism at age 2 and I feel very deeply about this campaign, our country, and our community.

Over this past weekend, this Independence Day as I was and am still so moved by the beautiful roaring sounds of our people, neighbors, loved ones who so patriotically displayed their love of country through celebrations of light and love. These were not just Democrats or Republicans, but real Americans; human beings, family, friends, acquaintances, mothers, fathers, sons, daughters, brothers, sisters, grandparents, who feel some sort of connection still up to this day for this great nation.

We felt very proud for a few hours, maybe a whole day, and then reality hit in for us. What does America mean to me? I have been asking myself a lot lately. That is my job to you all; to think, see, and feel every issue which affects us all from within knowing it does not need to continue this way, and must change.

This great, noble Democratic-Republic is not a spectator sport to those willing to participate in its every form. I know that I cannot spectate from the sidelines any longer as long as there are families going hungry, unsure of if they even have a right to a home; a right to live essentially all while barely surviving.

I am a believer in civil service and have dedicated my life to serving my community and country where I possibly can. I am proud of my service, be it with the Supervisor of Elections, as a congressional intern, or in my current job roles. It is from this view where someone willing to seriously see, hear the cries for new leadership emerges.

America is not monolithic groups made up by fiction actors who have long claimed to lead both on TV and behind the scenes all while provoking this unnecessary division.

Naturally over time, the conditions have changed. We are still here, even while enduring suppressive, pervasive, and gross violations of our civil liberties. All of this happened at lightning speed within a year after my birth in the aftermath of 9/11. I did lose a would-be close relative that fateful day, and I still remember my family's own fear of flying from such a young age.

That day was a tragedy which both tore us apart, but did for a few weeks bring us together as Americans who together said in unison that we would never tolerate such an onslaught on our Republic ever again.

The general welfare has not been ordained, our civil liberties, our unalienable rights, have been entrenched upon by those who claim most to be the patriotic ones. They would rather erect more cameras in loose, obscure street corners, stoke fear, than to fix those street lights and help those on that very same corner.

We are all mortal beings who believe in the grace, and fragility of this life we were given. We all have feelings, dreams, aspirations, for us, our families, loved ones, and for our nation. We deserve and need a thriving and safe community where we can live.

The New Deal does still matter to me. It must be expanded upon within state-perview, and should be federally as well. We need all of the alphabet agencies back, such as a revived Civilian Conservation Corps (the collective public agency dedicated to preserving our trees, wetlands, forests, the ocean, and other natural areas) and Works Progress Administration which will work in conjunction with both existing public and private structures in both creating, and sustaining meaningful employment and even greater connection to our community and our country through even greater land conservation and restoration.

We must as patriotic, unapologetic Americans stick up for our beliefs that no man should walk hungry, have nowhere to sleep, live in fear of this old age ever again. In our communities, it is where movements begin. I am a firm believer of this, and with it our First, and Second amendment rights.

I have no masters, but only to Almighty God, my family, loved ones, and to you all. Over the coming days, weeks, and months, I humbly ask you to write me in for the win for this District 85.
